To be genuinely free is to achieve full development, as a single, united, and indivisible nation.

With this desire, let us renew the pledge made by our forefathers imbued with firm confidence in Divine Providence. Let us bind ourselves to support our free and independent Republic, if need be with our lives, with our fortunes, and with our most sacred blessing our honor.

We owe this to our national heroes, who had won for us this freedom that we now enjoy. We owe this to the next generations of Filipinos, to whom we swear to bequeath a stronger and genuinely free republic.

I have said it before and I shall say it once more, I will be with you on that long and uphill road to achieve our dream of freedom – from hunger, neglect and fear. As integral actors in our democracy, we are all involved in this collective pursuit of real freedoms. That duty rests with all of us.

Representing the rich cultural heritage of their communities, the Echague Mengal Dancers, Santiago City Balamban Cultural Dance Troupe and Marikina Dance Ensemble bring to life the stories, traditions and spirit of the Filipino people through dance. Rooted in local history, folklore and identity, their performances celebrate the unique character of their respective communities while fostering pride in our shared cultural heritage.

Through their participation in festivals, civic events, and cultural programs, these groups help keep treasured traditions alive, inspiring young people to embrace creativity, discipline and a deeper appreciation of the nation’s rich and diverse performing arts. Their dedication serves as a reminder that our cultural heritage continues to thrive when it is shared, celebrated and passed on to future generations.

BANDA EL GOBERNADOR
CITY OF BACOOR, CAVITE

Established in 1986, the EL GOBERNADOR Band of Bacoor City has become one of the Philippines’ premier marching bands, proudly representing the rich musical heritage of Bacoor. Named after Governor Pedro F. Espiritu of Barrio Panapaan, the band has earned more than 50 championship and special awards, including back-to-back Bacood Festival titles in 2023 and 2024.

A recipient of the Gawad Bayaning Pilipino, EL GOBERNADOR has proudly represented the country at the 127th Philippine Independence Day Parade in New York City and continues to showcase Filipino talent on the world stage under the leadership of Maestro Jessee San Miguel.

GUIGUINTO HALAMANAN STREET DANCERS PHILIPPINE FOLK DANCE SOCIETY
LUCENA CITY CHAPTER

The Halamanan Street Dancers proudly represent the fourteen barangays of Guiguinto, Bulacan, bringing to life the town’s rich cultural heritage through vibrant performances rooted in Filipino tradition. Led by the Indak Guiguintenyo Folkloric Group, the ensemble has earned recognition as a multi-time champion of the Singkaban Festival and a top placer at the Aliwan Fiesta, reflecting the creativity, unity and cultural pride of the Guiguintenyo people.

The Philippine Folk Dance Society – Lucena City Chapter is dedicated to preserving and promoting Philippine folk dances and the cultural heritage of Quezon Province. As a recognized local chapter of the Philippine Folk Dance Society (PFDS), it works alongside cultural workers, educators, researchers, and artists to keep traditional dances, stories and values alive, inspiring a deeper appreciation of Filipino identity and heritage among present and future generations.

CITY OF LAS PIÑAS

Founded on 27 January 1950 by the Cristobal brothers, Banda San Jose is one of Las Piñas City’s most enduring cultural institutions. Named after St. Joseph, the city’s patron saint, the band has earned numerous championships and honors while nurturing generations of young musicians through free music education.

Recognized in 2023 as the Most Outstanding Youth Social Enterprise by the Villar Foundation, Banda San Jose continues to uphold a proud legacy of musical excellence, community service and cultural pride.

METRO MANILA

The PASUC-NCR unites Metro Manila’s state universities and colleges in advancing education, innovation, and nation-building. Composed of leading public higher education institutions, it promotes academic collaboration, cultural and sports programs, and initiatives that strengthen Philippine arts, heritage and research while helping shape future generations of Filipinos.

Through shared programs and partnerships, PASUC-NCR continues to foster excellence in learning, leadership, and public service, contributing to the nation’s progress and development.

BANDA 85
MUNICIPALITY OF STA. MARIA, BULACAN

Founded on 9 April 1985 by Maestro Bienvenido “Ka Bien” Matias, Banda 85 Santa Maria Bulacan began with 70 pioneering young musicians who received scholarships from Sacred Heart Academy. For four decades, the band has nurtured generations of musicians while sharing its rich musical heritage through performances at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Concert at the Park, major festivals and premier venues nationwide. Today, it remains one of Bulacan’s most respected community bands, proudly carrying forward a legacy of excellence, service and cultural pride.

ANG LUPANG PANGAKO BAGO ANG PANANAKOP
“ANG PERLAS NG SILANGAN” – ANG BAYAN NI KABUNIAN SA KULTURA’Y HITIK AT MAYAMAN

This float portrays the Philippines during the Pre-Colonial Period as a thriving and sophisticated society with established systems of governance, culture and learning. Settlements nestled among mountains, hills and rice terraces symbolize the Barangay system, where communities flourished under the leadership of Datus, Rajahs and Sultans. The terraces stand as enduring symbols of the ingenuity, cooperation and agricultural knowledge of our ancestors.

Indigenous identity is reflected through handwoven textiles, bamboo architecture, and the vibrant traditions of Abaca and Ikat weaving. The Bahay Kubo highlights the resourcefulness of early Filipinos and their ability to live in harmony with their environment.

The float also celebrates our ancestors’ knowledge of navigation, traditional healing and stewardship of
the land and waters. As the opening chapter of the Filipino story, it reminds us that long before colonization, the archipelago was already rich in culture, self-sufficient communities, and enduring traditions – a heritage that continues to inspire the nation today.

INDAK NG MALAYANG BAYAN
“ANG MITHING KASARINLAN” – PAGDIRIWANG NG MALAYANG BAYAN

At the heart of this float is the Sampaguita, the national flower and a timeless symbol of Filipino faith, identity and resilience. Long associated with remembrance, devotion and celebration, it reflects the enduring spirit of a people whose love for country has been passed down through generations.

Complementing the floral design are wooden bas-relief panels inspired by the carving tradition of Jose Alcantara, depicting defining moments in the nation’s journey to freedom, including the Battles of Quingua, Cagayan de Misamis, and Cinco de Noviembre, the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, and the first unfurling of the Philippine flag in the Visayas and Mindanao. These milestones honor the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of those who helped shape the Filipino nation.

Framed by singkaban arches, okkir motifs and capiz windows, the float celebrates the rich cultural heritage that unites Filipinos across generations. Rising above the design is a figure bearing the Philippine flag, inspired by the 1898 illustration of the Genius of Liberty, symbolizing the hopes, aspirations and enduring freedom of the Filipino people.

BAGONG PILIPINAS
PAMAMAHALANG PILIPINO

The Bagong Pilipinas Float reflects the Filipino people’s enduring aspiration for a stronger, more inclusive and progressive nation. At its center stands a heroic figure symbolizing the resilience, unity and determination that have carried the nation through its history and continue to guide it toward a brighter future.

Surrounding structures represent modernization, innovation and the country’s aspirations for national transformation. Interconnected pathways and flowing platforms symbolize cooperation, accessibility and the continuous delivery of public services across the archipelago, bringing government closer to the people it serves.

At the base, cog wheels bearing the logos of national government agencies reflect the collective effort of institutions working together in service of the nation. Together, these elements portray a Philippines united in purpose, strengthened by resilience and inspired by hope as government and citizens work hand in hand in building a more prosperous future for all.

“ANG BALANGAY NG PAGKAKAIBIGAN AT UGNAYAN”
ANG MAINIT NA PAGTANGGAP NG SAMBAYANAN SA ASEAN

Inspired by the historic Balangay, this float celebrates the Philippines’ rich maritime heritage and long tradition of fostering friendship, exchange and cooperation among peoples. Used by early Filipinos for trade, migration, and seafaring as early as 320-1250 CE the Balangay is recognized as the oldest watercraft discovered in the Philippines and the first ancient wooden boat excavated in Southeast Asia,
reflecting the ingenuity and seafaring excellence of our ancestors.

The float features a traditional Balangay adorned with vibrant sails representing the ASEAN member states, symbolizing unity amid diversity and the enduring bonds among neighboring nations. Marine-inspired motifs, flowing carvings, and twelve sculpted rowers evoke a shared journey across seas and generations, while celebrating the Filipino values of hospitality, friendship and solidarity.

As the Philippines warmly welcomes its ASEAN partners, the Balangay stands as a timeless symbol of connection – honoring our shared past while charting a course toward a future of peace, cooperation and mutual prosperity.

As the music reaches its final crescendo, the Sarimanok rises above the united performers and the Balangay, its wings outstretched beneath the morning sky. Once more, Inang Bayan appears, her gaze filled with pride and hope as the Sarimanok bows before her, symbolizing the realization that the journey toward freedom has always led back to the Filipino people.

In a final tableau of unity, courage and shared purpose, the nation’s story comes full circle- honoring the sacrifices of the past and the enduring spirit of freedom that lives on in every generation.
